I got polled! This is actually the first time ever that I've been polled. The poll was conducted by Opinion Research Corporation so it's probably a CNN poll, but could be associated with the Clinton campaign. There were some pretty loaded questions in the poll.
The poll actually covered a huge range of topics, mostly who do I think would do better on a range of issues - the war in Iraq, the economy, the mortgage crisis.
Here's some of the more interesting questions:
- My level of enthusiasm if Clinton gets the nomination over Obama - whether I would vote for McCain or Clinton (the same for Obama over Clinton vs. McCain).
- Whether I think McCain would continue Bush's policies or have his own policies
- Whether my opinion of Bill Clinton was favorable or unfavorable (I said favorable even though my opinion of him has dropped during this campaign)
- Whether my opinion of Jeremiah Wright is favorable or unfavorable
- Whether the controversy over Jeremiah Wright made my opinion of Barack Obama more favorable or less favorable (I actually refused to answer because I can honestly say that Jeremiah Wright makes no difference in my opinion). I don't know if I messed up the poll because they were trying to force me into one or the other.
- Whether I think that people struggling to pay their mortgages should get special treatment. I said I think that people should get the same special treatment that the banks are getting (i.e. bailouts). They forced me to answer that yes, they should get special treatment.
- Whether I have personally suffered because of high gas prices.
- If I'm very conservative, conservative, moderate, liberal or very liberal (note: no progressive).
Other questions had to do with how often I vote, how interested I am in the election, how closely I'm following the election followed by demographic infor (race, age, income, ZIP code).
I'm not sure how I feel about being polled. I didn't care for the loaded nature of the questions, but I hope I can skew the poll in the right direction.
